Advisory and opinion-making bodies
The President of Statistics Poland is supported in the performance of his tasks by five advisory and opinion-making bodies. These include:
Scientific Statistical Council
Main tasks and objectives:
- provides opinions, recommendations, and advice on methodological works,
- ensures continuous improvement of the statistical research system.
Methodological Commission
Main tasks and objectives:
- refines methodology of statistical surveys,
- raise the quality of statistical information,
- evaluates existing statistical methods,
- initiates new methodological solutions,
- initiates scientific and research work related to methodology of statistical surveys.
Program Commission
Main tasks and objectives:
- prepares the drafts of annual programmes of statistical surveys of official statistics,
- proposes the subject matter of the annual programme of statistical surveys, indicates new areas of statistical surveys or deepening existing surveys.
Editorial Committee
Main tasks and objectives:
- opines the premises for development of the system of dissemination and distribution of statistical information,
- analyzes the ministry’s publishing activities annually submitting its conclusions and recommendations, provides opinions on the assumptions and concepts of publications by Statistics Poland and statistical offices, as well as unscheduled publications,
- provides opinions on the draft statistical research program for publishing activity.
College
Main tasks and objectives:
- examines projects of strategies, programs, and plans, as well as other subjects significant for official statistics.
